CIP (Clean-In-Place) Management
Automated fouling diagnosis, ASTM-compliant batch sizing recipes, soak execution timers & baseline restoration tracking.
Biofouling & Colloidal Cake Layer
Antiscalant Barrier Intact
Clean water flux restricted
NaOH + EDTA (pH 11.2, 95°F)
Current RO Normalized Performance
Live Sensor FeedMembrane manufacturers (FilmTec, Toray, Hydranautics) mandate cleaning when ΔP rises > 15-25% or Normalized Flow drops > 10-15%. Delaying past this threshold causes irreversibly compacted cake layers.
AI Clean-In-Place Sequence Advisory
Stage-Specific Differential & Water Chemistry Correlation
Stage 1 Biofilm & Silt Cake
Elevated Stage 1 ΔP (37.2 PSI) with relatively mild Stage 2 ΔP (22.1 PSI) indicates organic slime, bacterial EPS, or colloidal matter capturing feed spacer channels.
DO NOT START WITH ACID
Applying acid clean (low pH) to heavy organic bio-matter will precipitate and permanently coagulate organics onto the membrane pores. Clean with High pH first.
High pH Alkaline Clean (Primary)
0.1% NaOH + 0.1% Na4-EDTA @ pH 11.2, 95°F (1 hr recirc + 2 hr soak) to disperse bio-slime.
Low pH Acid Clean (Secondary)
2.0% Citric Acid @ pH 2.3, 86°F to dissolve residual calcium phosphate or iron scales.
